Renowned for its imaginative use of public spaces, the award-winning Janis Claxton Dance enters the realms of art and science with Chaos and Contingency. Having been made to be specifically shown in galleries and museums, the piece is based on the study of emergent mathematical patterns: small variants initiate changes; patterns evolve and dissolve; revealing both a simplicity and complexity within the piece. This weekend at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, eight dancers from Scotland and China take over the centre hall to offer audiences alternative modes of seeing dance.
