Tramway launches a year long programme of creative work in public spaces. The areas of Pollokshields and Govanhill will host an exciting range of performative and visual events. We are working with local agencies, Govanhill Youth Project, St. Andrews Drive Tenants’ Association and YCSA to generate a spectrum of activities which wil animate the local area and provide creative opportunities for young people. The works will be created through a series of residencies by artists skilled in music, physical theatre, parkour, new media and visual art.
A workshop programme responding to the Bruce Nauman exhibition will launch the project. This will take place during Easter in Govanhill and Pollokshields. These workshops will result in citing of neon text signs in piblic space during May.
This project is supported by ScottishPower, Cashback for Communities Scotland, Arts & Business, Glasgow Housing Association, Glasgow City Council and Culture & Sport Glasgow
