Created using found materials and recording devices, this machine powered, theatrical installation features sonic-kinetic sculpture, mechanical puppetry and recorded composition.  Ecstatic Arc can be viewed during the day, but really comes to life at night, through live performance.
Commissioned by Cryptic Nights and supported by The Craignish Trust and The Hugh Fraser Foundation.
Robbie Thomson works with kinetic sculpture, sound and installation.  He is a graduate of the Glasgow School of Art and a founding member of The Glue Factory. Past works and collaborative projects have included; an animatronic beast, a gallery buried under the floorboards, a robotic French waiter, a wooden labyrinth, organic cable cars and self-playing pianos. Recent exhibitions/events have included The Gloaming (solo show) at Transmission Gallery, Glasgow, Canard Digerateur at SHUNT, London, and Buzz or Howl (with 85A) at The Woodmill, London.
