Tramway’s FRESH FACED Summer School is back this year. Offering high quality opportunities in visual and performing arts for young people across Glasgow.
Suitable for ages 12 – 16. No previous experience necessary.
The Visual Art Summer School is led by tutor Gemma Mannion and offers an introduction to contemporary visual art through an exploration of the venue and its programme. WEEK 1: Printmaking and Mark-making
2 - 6 July
Explore your creative side with a week experimenting with various forms of printmaking and mark making. All materials will be provided.
9 -13 July
Ever wondered how to make your art work more dynamic? A week-long introduction to moving image and digital arts. Programmes such as Photoshop, Final Cut and I Can Animate will be used to bring your ideas to life. All materials will be provided.
16 - 20 July
A week investigating three dimensional art practices. From plaster, wire to installation art, much of the work produced will be influenced by the exhibiting artist Jannis Kounellis, whose work will be on display in Tramway. All Materials will be provided.
23 - 27 July
The DANCE Summer School is led by professional dancer Rosalind Masson and offers an introduction to contemporary dance through an exploration of the venue and its programme.
Have fun, explore dance and movement, and meet other young people.
30 July - 3 August
The YOUNG CRITICS Summer School is led by professional writer and critic Gareth Vile and offers an introduction to critical writing and arts journalism through an exploration of the venue and its programme.
