In Return to the Voice internationally acclaimed theatre-makers Song of The Goat re-imagine ancient Gaelic and other traditional Scottish musical forms to create a thrilling and emotional large-cast performance.  Inspired by laments for death and love, working songs, story-telling songs, psalms, wedding songs, and songs of exile, Return to the Voice is a passionate exploration of the spiritual and human importance of memory and music.   A sell-out success at this year’s Edinburgh fringe, this is a special one-off performance at Tramway.

Return to the Voice was commissioned by Eleven and Summerhall in association with the School of Scottish Studies Archives at the University of Edinburgh.  This revival is part of The Home Straits, a programme of work on the theme of home curated by Eleven for Homecoming Scotland 2014.
