Rhianna Turnbull works across painting, drawing and collage to create work which focuses on her own lived experience and themes around lifestyle, attitude and identity.
The artist selects and combines images from a vast array of archived magazine material to form subtle narratives which hint at fantasised scenarios or the lifestyle of a suggested protagonist. The resulting assemblages are at once seductive and disconcerting, hinting at constructs of aspiration, glamour and idealised lifestyles, and how these constructs are manifested and subverted in the everyday.
