Part of Tramway’s RIP IT UP Season of new work Jan-Mar 2013. Tramway Family Day: The Big Idea is an afternoon of workshops, performances and installations by up-and-coming Scottish artists developing new work for ages 0-12 their parents and carers. Programmed in association with Imaginate.

​Fly Arts: The Story Den

12–1pm & 2–3pm
Recommended for Ages 4-12 (Under 6 must be accompanied by an adult AT ALL TIMES)

​Come and join us in the magical story den and get lost in the world of traditional storytelling. You will meet some weird and wonderful characters and then have fun creating your own fantastical mask… whether beastie or bogle, let your imagination run wild!



The Great Scottish History Mystery
Studio
1.30–2pm & 3–3.30pm
Recommended for Ages 7-12 (Under 6 must be accompanied by an adult AT ALL TIMES)

A sudden event. No one can agree what just happened.  Help the detective, and go in search of the truth! An exciting interactive journey into Scotland's past.



The Letter ‘J’: Grandad & Me

Grandad and Me is a living story book with music inspired by The Grey Earl’s illustrations. Grandad is now missing - even though his favourite job was “being my Grandad”. We will follow in the footsteps of Grandad’s adventures.  The Letter J comprises of: Jetson, Janssen, Jon, Jess and... em, Andy...


Nick Evans Solar Eyes Exhibition Activity
Tramway 2
12–4pm
Suitable for All Ages (Children must be accompanied by an adult AT ALL TIMES)

Part sculpture ‘theme park’ and part lost civilisation, Nick Evans ambitious solo exhibition references Egyptian and Mayan mythology with complex geometrical patterns, bright colours and large plaster sculptures. Take part in a drop-in exhibition activity throughout the day, suitable for the whole family.

Near & Far is an adventurous new piece for children exploring the distance between us all and the technologies that help us shrink our world and expand our horizons.

 

 

Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult AT ALL TIMES.
Free activities are first-come, first-served. Some activities may have limited capacity. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
