A head and shoulders portrait of performer Lubna Kerr

2 – 13 August 2021

Connecting with audiences is crucial to Lubna’s work, with one of the aims being to show that both communities understand and enjoy the same stories and humour.

During her residency, she will be developing and writing a new play - with Douglas Maxwell as dramaturge, and Johnny McKnight as director - which reflects the story of a Pakistani woman moving from a middle-class family in Pakistan to Govan in Glasgow.

This is a great opportunity to share positive stories with communities who have not heard them before, and sometimes rely on an often biased media for their information.
