In the Flesh
Billy Cowie
In the Flesh is a stereoscopic ‘dance screen installation’ by choreographer and filmmaker Billy Cowie.
To experience In the Flesh you are invited to enter a darkened space wearing 3-D glasses. Below is a dancer. Although the dancer is a projection, she appears to be actually in the space, solid and real; she is therefore in effect, ‘in the flesh’. At the end of her four-minute dance she fades into nothing.
In the Flesh premiered at Paradiso, Cinedans Festival, July 2007, in Amsterdam.
