Glasgow’s Book Festival, Aye Write! comes to Tramway for the first time this weekend.

From today, a weekend of fascinating events featuring leading writers is heading your way.

Tonight, crime-writing pals Mark Billingham, Stuart Neville, Doug Johnstone Val McDermid, Luca Veste and Chris Brookmyre take to the stage as the Fun Lovin’ Crime Writers. Enjoy a full-on rock ‘n’ roll experience, featuring a set list of carefully chosen cover versions that have a distinctly criminal flavour.

Saturday’s packed line-up features Polly Tonybee & David Walker, Neil Findlay MSP & Liam Young, Darren McGarvey & Raoul Martinez and Chris Bryant, MSP. Topics covered range from the welfare state, to mountaineering, to the British aristocracy.

Sunday sees Peggy Seeger introduce stories from her extraordinary life in music, and the author of an exploration of the Easter Rising leads a panel discussion, with Sean Bell, Eddi Reader, Máirtín Ó Catháin, Maggie Chetty, Stephen Coyle and Feargal Dalton among the guests.

Who will you see?
