The Big Picture Show, a festival of artists' moving image for children, is now open to the public. Developed in collaboration with artists and their children, it features experimental, narrative and performance-based works which will be essential viewing for anyone interested in the moving image, but with a younger audience in mind, presented in a welcoming, family-firneldy environment.
The festival, which is programmed by LUX Scotland in association with Tramway, will screen three programmes over a month, with each 'season' designed for a particular age group. The first programme, Psy-kid-elia, is a celebration of art in motion, and targets ages 0 - 8.
The Big Picture Show runs until 11 December and will be screened in Tramway 2 during gallery hours (daily expect Mondays). It is free to visit.
It is accompanied by Saturday Social, a free child-friendly opening event on the afternoon of 12 November; and a Parents' Evening on Thursday 8 December, including a film screening and discussion.
