Tramway's phased reopening

Posted on 16 Sep 2020 in News

We are delighted to announce the phased reopening of Tramway from the week beginning 5 October. (Please note, this date is indicative and subject to change in line with ongoing Scottish Government guidance.)

Initially, access will be by advance booking for specific events only as we focus on providing rehearsal and production space, and enabling specific projects and the production of new work.

We will then reopen to visitors on Saturday 24 October with Rajni Perera: Traveller, our first exhibition since lockdown. Things will look a little different from usual as we work to ensure the safety of all our visitors. Firstly, the exhibition will be open Tue-Sat, and you will be required to book in advance if you want to visit it. We will release full details of the booking process nearer the time - but entry to Tramway will remain free.

We've missed you and look forward to welcoming you back. In the coming weeks, we will have further updates about how you can visit, and more information about future programming, which we will add to this website and our social media channels.

In the meantime, Box Office enquiries can continue to be made online, and you can still enjoy a programme of work which aims to bring art to our audiences and into the public realm whilst we are temporarily unable to welcome you into our spaces including:

Tramway TV, our online platform featuring a combination of film, artist conversations, digital performances and online interventions from visual artists and performance makers across Scotland and beyond (watch on Instagram @glasgowtramway).

Rabiya Choudhry: Big Broon Stressed Oot Eyes (2020) a witty new street-facing mural commissioned by Tramway which captures our current collective moment.

We thank you for all your patience and support throughout this unprecedented time, and look forward to welcoming you back soon.
