Rumpus Room drop-in workshops
Saturday 28 January - Scrap Rug Weaving
Sunday 29 January - Scarecrow Making
Drop in between 1 and 3pm
Drop into two free creative workshops inspired by our current exhibition by Iza Tarasewicz, and its themes of agriculture, tradition and community. Sessions are especially suited to young children aged 4+ and open to everyone.
Young children should be supervised by a parent or guardian.Saturday 28 January - Scrap Rug Weaving
Join Rumpus room and artist Adris Ardis Önnerfors for a scrap rug weaving workshop.
Inspired by farm keepers in Adri’s home countries of Scandinavia, we will learn techniques and create a communal folk art scrap-rug from textile waste and old clothes, weaving an artwork together that is functional and fun.
Sunday 29 January - Scarecrow Making
Together we will make small scarecrow children for your front garden, window, veg patch or bedroom, using natural products (hay, jute and straw ) and recycled clothing. Learn to make scarecrows similar to those found in farmers' fields, and seen in folk traditions across the globe.
