Human Threads - Ubuntu Vibes: Feel the Beat
1st Jun 2022 12.00pm - 1.00pm Free - ticket required Tramway View map Book tickets Bookings via Eventbrite

A musical performance in our Human Threads exhibition.

A vibrant and exciting performance inspired by West African music and dance, and with clowning! The event will fill audiences with the magic of feeling the world from a different perspective.

Ubuntu Vibes is an Edinburgh-based group featuring Raquel Ribes Miro, Beti Mencal and Andy Cooke. Ubuntu is an ancient African word meaning "I am what I am because of who we all are," and all the group members have studied African music and dance over many years. Drawing on their experience, they create and perform dance pieces with live music to delight audiences of all ages.

The performance will last between 20 and 30 minutes and will be followed by a hal hour workshop, which includes music, dance and singing.

ACCESS: Highly visual and sensory. Children and families very welcome.

Part of a programme of events accompanying Human Threads, a large scale, multi-sensory exhibition from Artlink in partnership with Tramway, open here until 28 August.

Human Threads is supported by Creative Scotland, Midlothian Health & Social care Partnership and RS Macdonald Charitable Trust
