Bishop May Down is a performance maker and facilitator based in Glasgow, and Emma Lewis-Jones is an artist and facilitator working across installation and performance.

Bishop May Down and Emma Lewis-Jones are using the residency for the initial research and development of Insistence: A Butch Ballet, a new socially-engaged ensemble dance project exploring butch identity and experience. Their studio research will focus on developing an accessible and adaptable devising framework to share with collaborators for working with butch participants.
