DIG 2025: Moving Meitheal - Galway Dance Symposium (Scotland/Ireland)
Part of Tramway's Dance International Glasgow festival, 9 - 24 May
Galway Dance presents a one-day symposium as part of their International Residency Initiative Scheme (IRIS) with partners Glasgow Life and Theatre Gu Leór discussing Intangible Cultural Heritage.
This one-day symposium will explore the relationship between Intangible Cultural Heritage and contemporary (dance) performance.
It will open with an introduction by Kristyn Fontanella, Director of Galway Dance and Rona Dhòmhnallach, Gaelic Arts Producer for Glasgow Life.
The Symposium will include:
Sharings from the 4 participating artists - Bernadette Divilly, Jack Anderson, Fionnlagh Mac A’ Phiocair and Aneta Dortová.
Panel Discussion / FOLK FOLX -Lived experience of making work connected to tradition for the contemporary audience palette.
Hosted by Seona McClintock from Theatre gu Leór and panelists
Evie Waddell, Jen Wren and Hamshya Rajkumar.

Iliyana Nedkova TRACS and Pomegranates Festival
Event concludes with a sharing by participating IRIS artists and a Q&A facilitated by IRIS Facilitator Rob Heaslip.

*BURSARY OPPORTUNITY*
Two bursaries are available to support Gaelic-speaking artists to attend this symposium.
Artists will receive a £150 stipend for the day, as well as travel costs.
