Artists Film International: A Kind of Power
Artists Film International presents A Kind of Power - a programme of artists films from around the globe that explores how systems of power shape the act of looking and the conditions under which we are seen.
A Kind of Power brings together 12 films that renegotiate the fraught legacies of representation and respond to the conditions under which people, histories, and territories are made visible.
Across the programme, artists confront systems of surveillance, colonial image histories, political visibility and digital circulation, while proposing more reciprocal and situated ways of seeing. Rather than positioning images solely as authoritative instruments of capture or control, many of the works foreground moving-image as an active space of encounter in which new dynamics emerge through relation, refusal, witnessing and collective attention.
Presented through exhibitions, festivals, and screenings across four continents, the programme creates connections between artists and audiences across distinct social, political, and geographic contexts, foregrounding moving image as a space through which relations, perspectives, and collective forms of attention are continually reshaped.
