Sonica: Hand To Mouth To - Keeley Forsyth
Part of Sonica Glasgow 2026
Scottish premiere
“Her voice is a spectacular thing: a cut-glass vibrato that brings to mind ANOHNI, or the unearthly tremble of late-period Scott Walker” – Pitchfork
Set in a darkened, ambiguous space, Hand To Mouth To is a mysterious performance: somewhere between slam poetry, spoken-word performance and religious ceremony. Lauded singer Keeley Forsyth has enlisted artistic collaborators to expand and rework her Hand to Mouth EP of 2025 for this reimagining, which includes on-stage cellist Colin Alexander and pianist Matthew Bourne, plus sonic interventions from Ross Downes. Excerpts from a specially commissioned response to the EP by novelist Jean-Baptiste del Amo slither in and out of a performance moving from starkly intimate to soaringly remote.
