How do our voices carry?
What can a voice hold?

Join Marged Siôn (artist/vocal practitioner) and Lizzie Graham (curator/facilitator) for a workshop that explores voice practice and somatic consciousness as creative tools for personal and social transformation. Together through different exercises, the group will be invited to call upon their own alignment, breath, resonance, dreams, and imagination, as resources for vocal liberation. Held within Jasleen Kaur’s exhibition Alter, Altar at Tramway the workshop will also draw on Kaur’s own exploration of sonic memories, vibrations, and vocal improvisation that informed the composition heard in the space.

This workshop is open to women-identifying, non-binary, and gender variant people, and we encourage those who are working collectively with others towards change to join the workshop.

People attending the workshop are invited to wear comfortable and warm clothing (layers) as there will be gentle movement-based exercises and the body’s temperature may drop during some voice and mindfulness practices.

If anyone has any access needs they would like to share ahead of the workshop, please email tramwayexhibitions@gmail.com

Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
