“When the art world starts taking the piss, there’s going to be a bloodbath.”

El Conde de Torrefiel is one of the most exciting and provocative theatre companies to emerge from Spain in recent years. Their newest work, Guerrilla, presents the inner universe of a group of young people that inhabit the same moment in time, move through the streets of the same city, share the collective conciousness of the same continent, and are affected to a greater or lesser degree by the same consequences. Even so, they don't know how to face a world that has changed too much since the beginning of the 20th century and that is in constant need of new rules, symbols, and tools for its interpretation.

This epic, visceral performance features a large cast of participants and is made up of three distinct parts; a rave, a Tai Chi class and a conference. The actions take place in dystopian fantasy future in three different cities. As the crowd dance, talk, and listen, a projected text, loaded with their most intimate thoughts, is superimposed upon the tableaux they create.

Please celebrate with us in the Tramway bar after the show on Saturday.
