Mahmoud is a central figure in cultural life in Gaza. He’ll read from his recent poetry collections I Am Still Alive and A Year on the Abyss of Genocide: two collections of quotidian updates and reflections; vital affirmation of presence and testimony of everyday life in Gaza in a time of genocide.

Michel Khleifi is considered the founder of contemporary Palestinian cinema. In conversation with Ayreen Anastas, he’ll screen his landmark documentary of anti-colonial time and persistence, Ma'loul Celebrates its Destruction (1984), clips from some other films, and discuss his groundbreaking work.
