Tramway Supports residency 17 to 22 November 2025

Missing is a multidisciplinary dance theatre solo by Tara Brandel which looks at pivotal queer women whose voices and stories have been erased from history, such as Margaret Skinnider from Govanhill Glasgow, (she led a battalion of men in the 1916 Irish Uprising) and Bronislava Nijinska (sister to Nijinsky and seminal choreographer in the 1920s for Ballet Russe).

Missing looks at the notion of erasure and invisibility using these women's erasure from history - as Europe became dramatically more rightwing in the 1930s - to look at possible global parallels between then and now. What is the notion of erasure? How does it impact people's lives?

Missing, which will premiere in 2026, is supported by Cork County Arts, Dance Ireland, Uillinn West Cork Arts Centre, Dance Base Edinburgh, Tramway and the Irish Consul in Scotland.
