Harold Offeh Album Cover Design Family Workshop
Inspired by the world of Harold Offeh's The Mothership Collective 2.0, exhibiting now at Tramway, this drop-in family-friendly workshop in our Cafe Mezzanine invites you to imagine, create, and design your very own album cover.
Drawing inspiration from musician, poet and visionary Sun Ra, and the vibrant creativity of Afrofuturism, you'll explore ideas of music, identity, and imagination through collage and image-making. Using colourful papers, textures, and mixed materials, you can cut, layer, combine and experiment to create a one-of-a-kind album cover that tells its own story.
What would the soundtrack to your future sound like? Who might be on the cover? What worlds, characters or adventures might you explore? Whether you're inspired by galactic quests, dreamscapes, family stories or fantastic inventions, this workshop is an opportunity to let your imagination take centre stage.
This is a playful, hands-on making session where there are no right or wrong answers. Families, friends and participants of all ages are encouraged to create together, explore new ideas, and discover the joy of making through colour, composition and storytelling.
As part of the workshop, each finished album cover will be photographed and added to the films being shown within the exhibition, connecting your creation to a wider collective imagination. Once photographed, you'll be able to take your original artwork home with you.
Come and create, experiment and dream up your own cosmic record cover.
